I express things everyone has seen at least once or items found in daily life using thread and fabric.
When I look at the vague images stored in my memory through the eyes of a creator, I discover things I never noticed before. It surprises me how ambiguous the world I usually see really is.
It's fascinating how even when I simplify things considerably, the finished piece still looks remarkably like the real thing. That's what keeps me creating. (Mayumi Hasegawa)

I use thread and fabric to express things that everyone has seen at least once or that are part of everyday life.
When I look at the ambiguous images in my memory with the eyes of a creator, I discover things that I had not seen before, and I am surprised at how ambiguous the world I usually see it.
I continue to create works because I find it very interesting that even if I make a few small changes to an image, it looks exactly like the real thing. (Mayumi Hasegawa)
